First to Fire Scholarships
The Air Defense Artillery Association has established the First to Fire Scholarship Endowment to provide recognition and financial assistance to our soldiers and their families.
We are also proud to partner with Raytheon in awarding two $5,000 scholarships in the name of two fallen service members:
Chief Warrant Officer 3 Robert Hammett who was assigned to the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, based in Fort Carson, Colorado and was killed in action in Baghdad, Iraq.
Command Sergeant Major James Blankenbecler who in 2003 was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 44th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, based in Fort Hood, Texas, and was killed while riding in a convoy that was hit by an improvised explosive device in Samarra, Iraq.
This year the ADA Association is awarding a total of $15,000 in scholarships. These scholarships are open to all Air Defense Artillery Association Members, as well as, their immediate family members pursuing an undergraduate degree.
