Professional Bio

SFC VanBuren was born in Fort Carson, CO. He enlisted into the Active Army in November 2011. He attended Basic Combat Training (BCT) and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Sill, OK. Upon completion of training, he was awarded the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 14G, Air Defense Battle Management Systems Operator.
ASSIGNMENTS: SFC VanBuren's assignments and duty positions include Early Warning Systems Operator, Sentinel Section Team Leader, C-RAM Battle Systems Operator, and Observer Controller while stationed at Fort Campbell and assigned to Bravo Battery, 2d Battalion, 44th Air Defense Artillery Regiment. His second assignment was at Rhine Ordnance Barracks and assigned to 10th AAMDC. His duty positions included being an Assistant Operations Sergeant, Passive Defense NCOIC, and 10th AAMDC Safety NCOIC. He supported multiple multinational training exercises in four different countries. Upon completion of his assignment in Kaiserslautern, SFC VanBuren returned to Fort Campbell and was assigned to Charlie Battery, 2d Battalion, 44th ADAR. His duty positions while assigned to Charlie Battery included Section Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant and Rear Detachment NCOIC. He also served under HHB, 2d Battalion, 44th ADAR as the Battalion S-3 NCOIC and Battle Systems Manager. He current assignment is 69th ADA Brigade in Fort Hood Texas assigned to the Brigade S-3 as the Brigade Master Driver Manager.

EDUCATION: SFC VanBuren graduated from Lewistown Area High School. He completed an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science and Programming from McCann School of Business and Technology. His military education includes ADA Senior Leaders Course, Advance Leaders Course (DHG), Warrior Leaders Course, Air Assault (2B), SHARP Foundations Course, JT-101 Introduction to Joint Multi TDL Network, JT-102 MAJIC, Safety Officer Course – 40 hour (SOC-40), C-RAM Mission Readiness Course, C-RAM Operator and Admin Course, and Family Readiness Liaison / Key Contact.
