Robbie Cantrell is a native of Dallas, Texas, where he enlisted in the United States Army on July 30, 1991, and attended Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, followed by Advanced Individual Training at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, where he graduated from the Ground Surveillance Systems Operator course. In November 1999, as a Staff Sergeant, he transitioned from Active Duty into the New Mexico Army National Guard, where he served as a Medical Specialist until October 2002. He then attended reclassification training at Fort Bliss, Texas, and graduated as an Air Defense C4I Systems Operator /Maintainer.
Cantrell retired as a Nominative Command Sergeant Major following a 31-year career in the U.S. Army. During his service, he held numerous senior enlisted command and staff positions. He culminated his career as the New Mexico Army National Guard State Command Sergeant Major in 2022.
His mobilizations and deployments include Operation Noble Eagle in support of the National Capital Region Integrated Air Defense Systems and Operation Enduring Freedom in Kandahar, Afghanistan, with a Security Force Assistance Advisory Team.
He has a Master of Arts in Education from New Mexico State University. He is the owner of an e-commerce apparel business, Reworn Revival Ltd Co, and provides Leadership, Learning, and Development products and consultation.
