Professional Bio
MAJ McLaughlin has served in a broad range of operational and leadership assignments within the 2-263 ADA Battalion, 263rd AAMDC, and 678th ADA Brigade. His roles have included Tactical Control Officer, Operations Officer, CUOPS/Training Officer, Battery Commander, and most recently, serving as the Battalion Joint Air Defense Operations Center (JADOC) Floor Officer in Charge. He has mobilized multiple times in support of Operation Noble Eagle and also led efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic in both state and federal capacities. He currently serves as an Operations Officer with the 678th ADA Brigade.
He is certified as a Battle Captain, Tactical Director, and Air Defense Artillery Fire Control Officer (ADAFCO), reflecting his technical expertise and operational depth in integrated air and missile defense. His military awards include four Army Commendation Medals, one Army Achievement Medal, five Army Reserve Component Achievement Medals, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” device and bronze 10-year hourglass, the Army Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon, and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (MOVSM).
MAJ McLaughlin is a lifetime member of both the National Guard Association and the Air Defense Artillery Association. He resides in Fredericksburg, Virginia, with his wife Juliann and their three children: Eli, Sophia, and Wattsyn.
