Professional Bio
SFC Julius R. Baker is a native of Benton Harbor, MI. He enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard on 09 June 2004. He completed Basic Combat Training (BCT) at Fort Jackson, SC, and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) as a Supply Specialist (92Y) in 2004 at Fort Lee, VA; in 2009, SFC Baker transitioned to Active Duty and completed AIT as an Automated Logistical Specialist (92A) at Fort Lee, VA; in 2016 he attended Army Recruiter School at Fort Knox, KY and in 2019 he completed AIT as a Patriot Launching Station Enhanced Operator/Maintainer (14T) at Fort Sill, OK. During his career, SFC Baker served as Brigade Logistics Liaison, Material Management NCO, Material Storage/Handling SGT, Material Control/Accounting NCO, Multi-Class NCO, Section Leader, Team Leader, Section Chief, and Platoon Sergeant. His assignments include 163rd Support Battalion Hampton, SC; 64th Brigade Support Battalion Fort Carson, CO; 1st Theater Sustainment Command Fort Bragg, NC; Great Lakes Recruiting Battalion Detroit, MI; and 3-43 Air Defense Artillery Fort Bliss, TX. His deployments have included one tour in Afghanistan, one tour in Iraq, and two tours in Kuwait. SFC Baker currently serves as the Alpha Battery, 3-2 Air Defense Artillery Fire Control Platoon Sergeant since 10 October 2024. SFC Baker holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Post University. His education and training include the MRT Course, EOL Course, Pregnancy P3T Course, U.S. Army Recruiter Course, UMO Course, BLC, ALC, and SLC. His awards and decorations include the Army Recruiter Badge, the Army Superior Unit Award, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (7 OLC), the Army Good Conduct Medal (5th Award), the Army Good Conduct Medal (5th Award), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (1 Campaign Star), Iraq Campaign Medal (1 Campaign Star), Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal (1 Mobilization Device), and NATO Medal.
